Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club

Surf Lifesaving

Bondi Beach is one of the worlds best beaches, but it can also be dangerous.  For over 110 years Bondi lifesavers have been protecting the public by volunteering to patrol and rescue.

While Bondi SBLSC is officially recognised as the worlds first surf club, the focus is firmly on ensuring that every year we can report “No Lives Lost” while our members patrol the beach.

We believe through education and vigilance we can ensure everyone has a safe and happy day at the beach.

We welcome new members as lifesavers or junior lifesavers (called ‘Nippers’). We are always interested in working with the broader community on beach safety education.

Members of the public can book a function in the beautiful “Blue Room”.

As a volunteer and not-for-profit organisation we rely heavily on the kindness of sponsors and donations.
